This week's movie is West Wide Story (2021).
In this classic retelling of the Romeo and Juliet tale, the young Maria and Tony meet against the 1957 backdrop of two warring factions in the neighborhood. Against all odds and against the wisdom of practically everyone they know, the two fall madly in love. With the Jets and the Sharks at each other's throats, it becomes difficult for the new couple to be together at all. Eventually, it will be made clear whether the flames of love are enough to keep them alive in the midst of so much acrimony.
