Library Assistant II
Rate: $18.16/hour
Approximately 15 hours a week: Tuesday, 9:30-2:30, Wednesdays 9:30-2:30, Thursday 9:30-2:30 and 1 Saturday or Sunday a month

The work: Library assistants are first and foremost representatives of the library. You will be working at the library’s public service desks as a member of a team to provide excellent customer service. You will also be required to become a passport acceptance agent (training provided).
Your day-to-day will include:
- Bring positive energy to patrons of all ages through work at our public service desk
- Help keep collections and the building neat and easy to navigate
- Helping patrons at the circulation desk: checkouts, returns, renewals, new card registrations
- Acting as a passport agent
- Supporting programs and event
This role includes light lifting, bending, and handling materials throughout the day.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School degree
- US Citizen
- Comfortable with computers, the internet, basic MS office, and mobile devices
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts
Recommended (but not required) qualifications:
- Experience working or volunteering in a library setting
- Experience with Koha ILS
- Foreign language proficiency
Must have qualifications:
- A love for learning, teamwork, and community
- Creativity and enthusiasm for making the library a place people want to be
